Artwork

I paint in many styles and different media, from oil-paints to acrylics, watercolours to pen and ink. I enjoy experimenting with textures and letting the media guide me into new horizons.

  • Portrait

I prefer to work from life, but as most of my clients are increasingly busy people I have perfected a way of working from a series of photographs...

  • Landscape

I avoided landscapes for a long time. I thought it a useless exercise to try and copy what God did better. Now my landscape painting is based on memories of places, an impression, capturing the essence of a place rather than slavishly copying...

  • Figurative

People fascinate me. All the colours of the rainbow, from the grey suited executive, to the Whitby Goth and all the shades in between. A lot of my work features my daughter caught napping or tying up her hair, simple but sensual acts that beg to be painted...

  • Still life

A still life is a work of art depicting mostly inanimate subject matter, typically commonplace objects which may be either natural (food, flowers, plants, rocks, or shells) or man-made (drinking glasses, books, vases, jewelry, coins, and so on).

  • Children's

Some of my paintings are suitable for children, either as decoration or sometime a unique portrait where the child is the central character.
